Description
Usage
Treatment and metaphylaxis of enteritis caused by non-invasive Escherichia coli. The presence of the disease should be confirmed before starting the metaphylactic treatment.
Target Species
poultry and cattle.
Dosage
oral use in drinking water.
Poultry: 123,000 IU colistin/kg bw/day (equivalent to 246 mg /kg bw/day), for 3 days.
Calves: 100,000 IU colistin/kg bw/day (equivalent to 200 mg of /kg bw/day), for 3 to five consecutive days.
Duration of treatment should be limited to the minimum time necessary for the treatment of the disease.
Withdrawal Period
calves (meat and offal): 1 day. Poultry (meat and offal): 9 days; eggs: zero days.
