Each g contains: sulfadimidine sodium 400 mg, trimethoprim 80 mg.
Trimethoprim is an antibacterial agent with a bacteriostatic activity against many gram negative and gram positive bacteria. Sulfadiazine is a sulfonamide antibiotic with bacteriostatic activity. The combination (‘potentiated sulphas’) is bactericidal against a wide variety of gram positive and gramnegative bacteria as trimethoprim and sulfadiazine act synergistically.
